Natalya Phillips is 16-year-old daughter of an African-Venezuelan music producer and Swedish biologist-turned_teacher. Involved with elements of the San Diego and Los Angeles local entertainment scene since age 7, she’s now presenting her first full-length CD, Whisper. The style in her voice that is initially similar to Feist, yet the undertone is that of a another vocalist (jazz maybe) that I can’t quite identify yet. Perhaps I’m hearing the maturing of her own vocal style. She sings and plays piano on today’s TuneCrush, “Don’t Say Nothing”. A warm arrangement here with the addition of the strings; everything works well together. Mellow and smooth, enjoy “Don’t Say Nothing”.
