Tunde Olaniran’s musical persona has always seemed to have a punk attitude with sass, but this video is his best combination of it yet. The Flint, Michigan-raised Olaniran takes hip-hop experimentation and infuses a vocal hook that really sticks with you. While he is aware of the fear of the literal “brown boy”, he also uses the term as an archetype to represent the “others” in society who don’t easily blend in the majority. The choreography itself is fueled by this awareness. From his upcoming release, The Second Transgression, here’s Tunde Olaniran with “Brown Boy”.
