This is not your ordinary sample pack of rhythms for sale. King Britt is releasing a unique set of sounds called Fragments Vol. 1 exclusively at Beatport. Here’s more info about the project from the man himself and listen to the demo of the project afterwards.
For volume one, I created a palette of interesting tools. Using Nintendo DS, Monome, custom sounds and random Max4Live patches, to make the .wav files ranging from glitchy loops to textured rhythms. I also included a Ableton Live Pack for easy production templates.
– King Glitch Beats
– King Looped Beats
– King Back Beats
– King Found Sound Percussion
– King Rhythmic Textures
– Ableton Ready Live Pack
All loops are 24bit .wav files that will work in any DAW or sampler. They are also Ableton ready. All loops work very well together in many different combinations.
Born in Mexico and based in Melbourne, Fernando Perez performs the under name Nahuatl Jaguar. The sound of Nahuatl Jaguar is described as nu-cumbia and the “Aztek style of dub”. By “Aztek”, he means “a clash between the original rhythms of the warrior Mexica culture translated into deep IDM and future bass music (techno, dub, dnb)”. Get a feel for it in these live samples of the Ometeotl Tribute Set.
Austin/San Marcos-based, Mich D. White serves up beat goodness under the moniker, Kinder. While his self-titled cassette release on Insect Records is sold out, do grab the digital release online as well as the GLM mix here. Along with debuting a video for the track, “Time To Move On” this at GiantStep.net, he’s also released a series of free, 20+ minute beat blends called Throwaways via Soundcloud that should definitely hear.
Speaking of Austin, tonight is the two Anniversary of Exploded Drawing and it will be held at The Museum of Human Achievement. Now since that address is a secret and the RSVP for the event ended yesterday, I suggest you start asking some close Austin, beat-lovin’ friends. Or you can always hit up @XplodedDrawing on Twitter.
That’s all for today. More later. Got beats? groovelovesmelody[at]gmail.com
